FAQ

QUESTIONS WE GET ASKED

A few things worth knowing before you book. Call us if your question is not here.

How often should fire extinguishers be inspected?

Your own staff should give each extinguisher a quick visual check every month. On top of that, a trained technician needs to carry out a full inspection once a year. Extinguishers also need deeper maintenance at set intervals, and we keep track of those dates for you so nothing is missed.

What is a hydrostatic test and when is mine due?

It is a pressure test of the cylinder itself, to confirm the shell is still safe to hold pressure. How often it is needed depends on the type of extinguisher. Read the date on your tag, or send us a photo of it and we will tell you when yours is due.

What kind of extinguisher does a commercial kitchen need?

Cooking oil and fat fires need a Class K extinguisher, and in most commercial kitchens that sits alongside a suppression system over the cooking line. Tell us about your kitchen and we will advise you on what the code requires.

Do you service emergency and exit lighting?

Yes. We inspect and repair exit and emergency lights, including batteries and bulbs, and we test that they actually come on when the power drops.

Do you provide fire safety training?

Yes. We run hands-on training so your staff know how to use an extinguisher properly before the day they need it. Training can be done at your own premises.
